This cute studio apartment for rent on Rue François Hellinckx is terrific. The front door opens into the fully-equipped kitchen. It’s much larger than you’d expect for a studio, which is great. It has a gas stove, fridge, microwave, and ample cupboard storage. It’s also furnished with a 2-seat table. At the opposite end of the kitchen is a sliding door. It opens into the bedroom/living space. It’s a cozy spot with a bright window, and it’s furnished with a sofa bed, chair, wardrobe, and chest of drawers. You’ll need to go through a hallway to get to the bathroom, which is spacious and has a shower.
Koekelberg is a peaceful and relaxing residential neighborhood. But you’re only a 15-minute walk from the Catholic University of Brussels and a 15-minute transit ride from Brussels city center. If you like sports, then there is plenty to do. There are a couple of nearby complexes, as well as the Sippelberg Stadium and a gym. If arts are your thing, you're in luck. A 5-minute walk gets you to Kusseneers Gallery and the Ultima Vez Asbl dance company venue. For groceries, you have your pick between a Lidl and an Aldi, which are both a few minutes away. And there is a bakery just down the street.
What we liked the most
- Foodies will enjoy the ample kitchen space.
- There are a few restaurants and bars close by.
- The Belgian Chocolate Village Museum is near Elisabeth Park, which is a 15-minute walk away.
- There is a gym around the corner, which is handy after indulging on all that Belgian chocolate!
