If you want a cozy and affordable home in Madrid, the rooms for rent in this 3-bedroom apartment on Pasaje de San Martín, near Calle de Quintiliano, definitely fit the bill. Walking into the apartment is a vestibule with doors leading to different areas of the space, including the full shared bathroom and kitchen down a corridor. The kitchen, which has a small window, is equipped and includes a dishwasher and washing machine. Back in the entrance hall, another door leads to the spacious common dining and living area with sofas, a TV, a 4-seat table and a lovely little balcony with a table and chair.
Prosperidad is a quiet residential area, but from this neighborhood you can get to anywhere in the city, or Spain for that matter, because the Avenida de America metro and bus station is 6 minutes away. Whatever your daily needs, you’ll find it within a 10-minute walk from your door. There is a supermarket, a butcher and a bakery nearby. You’ll also find a gym, and there are bars and restaurants all around. There is even a karaoke bar just down the street! The Kroom Dos School of Fashion Design is only a few minutes from your door and, in the evening, you can catch classical music concerts at the National Music Auditorium.
What we liked the most
- The rooms are spacious, but it’s really great to have a common living and dining area, as well as a little balcony.
- There is a mall in the area, but plenty of little shops and supermarkets within walking distance.
- This is a quiet residential area, so you know that it’s going to be a stress-free lifestyle away from the city center and the tourist hotspots.
- You’ll find cafés, bakeries and restaurants just down the street.

- The closest bus stop, which serves two day routes is the Cartagena stop just 4 minutes away. And, right around the corner on Avenida de América, there is a night-bus stop.
- The Nuevos Ministerios Railway station, is a 20-minute walk, but you can get there in 6 minutes if you call a taxi.
Flatmates
The landlady lives in the property. She's a 30-year-old student who loves to travel, workout and cook. If you want to have visits once in a while, it's fine. No parties, though.
