Previously owned by Belgian artist Armand Massonet, the renovated building of this 1-bedroom apartment to rent on Rue de la Source is unique and spectacular. An eccentric detail, but your WC is located on the stairwell leading to your apartment. It’s got a flat screen TV, though! Original details like wood floors, iron radiators and fireplaces (although decorative) have been preserved. However, everything is contemporary, warm and comfortable. The spacious bedroom has a small balcony with a street view and another small room with a ladder to a double bed in a loft. However, there is a desk and chair here, so you can use the space as an office. There is a double sink in the bathroom, and a nice big tub, too. The fully equipped kitchen with a 6-seat table is unbelievable. With a high ceiling and three French doors overlooking a terrace below, you might be spending a lot of time in here.
Rue de la Source is a pretty amazing place of its own right, with lots of interesting examples of Gothic Revival and Art Deco buildings. It’s also a very culturally active and diverse neighborhood, and it shows in all the restaurants and small stores you’ll find in the vicinity. It’s no wonder that Saint-Gilles is also considered the center of Brussels student life. If you want to get away from the bustle, Pierre Paulus Park is only a 5-minute walk from your front door, and if you want to get further into the bustle, the high-end stores of Avenue Louise are just 5 minutes away in the opposite direction.
