The entrance hallway to this 1st floor 3-bedroom apartment on Via Eugenio Tanzi is huge! It’s also furnished with shelving units, a wardrobe for each tenant, and a chalkboard to leave your flatmates notes. Just down the hall is a large shared kitchen with a balcony that can be accessed from 2 of the 3 rooms. It’s fully equipped, modern, and has a gas stove and a 4-seat table. Additionally, the apartment has 2 shared bathrooms. One is long and narrow with a shower stall and the other is more spacious, has a bathtub, and a door leading to a laundry and storage room with cleaning supplies and a washing machine.
Monte Mario is perfect for those looking for a quiet neighborhood away from downtown. It’s also ideal if you’re a student attending the faculty of medicine and surgery at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, which is a 12-minute walk from your apartment. You’re definitely off the beaten track here, but you can easily hop on the train to get downtown. Parco delle Mimose is a 20-minute walk away and located just on the other side of the university, but there is also a closer park, 10 minutes from your door. There might not be a lot of tourist spots near you, but there are pharmacies, restaurants, banks and supermarkets within just 3 minutes.
What we liked the most
- It’s a large and quiet apartment with a shared balcony to an interior courtyard.
- There are a couple of really nice parks nearby.
- The train station is right around the corner, and can connect you to the subway or the heart of Rome.
- There are three supermarkets within walking distance, as well as a couple of restaurants.

- The bus stop on Via Trionfale, which is 1 minute away, offers several different routes, including a night bus.
- It’s easier to take the train directly downtown, but if you want to connect to the MEA metro line, a 20-minute train ride will get you to the Cipro metro station, near the Vatican.
