This 3rd floor, 5-bedroom apartment to rent on Rue d’Isly is huge. It has five cozy bedrooms, two bathrooms and a toilet room. The space is divided between a lower and an upper floor. Three of the bedrooms are upstairs, as is a bathroom with a shower. The other bedrooms and bathroom are on the lower level, along with the open-plan common areas and the laundry room. The windows are fairly big, so you get bright natural light throughout the space. With lots of wood and exposed brick, there is a rustic feel to this space, while the furnishings, like the two sofas, are modern. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a 4-stool breakfast bar. There is also a large dining table with 6 chairs, but the table can accommodate more people.

Croix-Rousse is in Lyon’s 4th arrondissement. It’s a neighborhood that is as unique as it is beautiful. Your apartment is located between two rivers: the Saône and the Rhône. You’re only a few minutes from the metro, so it’s a great central location for exploring Lyon. The area used to be famous for silk factories, and you’ll find plenty of popular tourist attractions, like the Mur des Canuts fresco. There are also a few Roman attractions, like the Amphitheater of the Three Gauls. You can shop at the Monoprix supermarket, which is a 5-minute walk away. This area is brimming with cafés, pastry shops and restaurants.

What we liked the most

  • Your apartment is in the middle of the city. It has a contemporary living room and modern conveniences, and yet there is a warm, country-home feel to the space.
  • There are dozens of restaurants within a 10-minute walk.
  • You can walk to the banks of the Saône or the Rhône river within half an hour.
  • Parc de la Cerisaie is a lovely nearby green space where you can take a peaceful stroll.

Things to keep in mind

  • The apartment is on the third floor, and it's a duplex—which means stairs. If you have reduced mobility, this may not be the best option.
