Spotahome's opinion
This straightforward studio flat on Blackthorn Street is uniquely located inside a church. It definitely isn’t something you see everyday! On the top floor, there are wonderful exposed wood beams, a large window and slanted ceilings that give the space extra character. The furnishings are simple, but comfy. It’s open-concept and the equipped kitchenette is a small nook with a fridge, hotplate and microwave oven. The space is furnished with a table and a few chairs, a desk, comfy sofa, chest of drawers, and a double bed with a night table. There is also a stand alone wardrobe to store your clothes. Additionally, the bathroom is more spacious than you’d think for a space of this size, and it has a shower stall.
The studio is located in the East London area of Bow, where you will be within walking distance of Canary Wharf. Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park sounds dreary, but it’s one of the “Magnificent Seven” of private cemeteries built in the 19th century. Today, it’s a nature reserve and it’s 10 minutes away. A few minutes up the street, and you’ll have crossed paths with a half dozen places to get a bite to eat, a coffee or a pint. Just 2-minutes away is a corner shop, as well as a fish and meat market. You can do a larger grocery shop at the Poplar Co-op Food and Chrisp Street Market, which are both across the canal.
What we liked the most
- A studio flat inside of a church? What’s not to like about that?
- There is a Fit4Less gym just 5 minutes away.
- You can take a 20-minute bus ride to Queen Mary University of London, or walk there in less than 25.
- You can reach the Tesco Superstore within 13-minutes by bus, and roughly 18 minutes on foot.
