Located on the second-floor, this converted loft studio flat for rent on Barking Road doesn’t have an elevator, so at least you’ll stay fit living here! The front door opens into the kitchen space, which is equipped with a small fridge, stove top burners, a microwave and plenty of cupboard space. The bathroom door is just to the right and has a shower stall, as well as a small skylight. The main living room is gorgeous with wood flooring, exposed brick, and a large skylight. You get plenty of natural light in the area, which is furnished with a double and a single bed, a standalone wardrobe, a chest of drawers, and a dining table with chairs that you can pull in and out of a little cubby hole when needed.
Newham is home to the Stratford and Docklands campuses of the University of East London, and you can reach either with a 30-minute public transportation ride. If you’re a football fan, you’ll be happy to note that you can catch West Ham United games at the Boleyn Ground less than 10 minutes away. Upperton Road West Park is also a nice little green space a few minutes down the street and close to West Ham Food Center, where you can pick up groceries. While the flat is located in a quiet residential area, there are a number of little shops and restaurants nearby, and the closer you get to the university campuses, the greater variety of pubs and eateries you’ll discover.
What we liked the most
- The main living area has a cool fireplace area with exposed brick, and gets a terrific amount of natural light.
- If you hop on public transit, you can be at one of the 3 main universities of the borough within 30 minutes.
- You’ll find a few little local restaurants and pubs nearby.
- There a couple of relaxing green spaces within a 10-minute walk from your flat.
