On the third floor, this 1-bedroom duplex apartment for rent on Place du Grand Sablon has a great view. Walking up the stairs, you’ll walk into a contemporary open-plan kitchen, dining and living room with wood floors. The space is economical, but so brilliantly decorated that you’d never know it. There is a 4-seat dining table, an elegant sofa and a TV, and the kitchen comes fully-equipped with major and small appliances, as well as all the dishware you need to move in and start living! There is even a washer and dryer hidden away in the closet. Passing a window, you’ll climb another set of stairs to get to the bathroom and bedroom upstairs. There is a small wardrobe, and a comfy double bed with a night light, so you can read before turning in for the night. Behind this area is a closed water closet with a toilet, and such a gorgeous open bath and shower that you might feel inspired to light up some candles and grab a glass of wine.
Sablon has an old history, and the great thing about living in this apartment is that it’s all at the tip of your fingers. The Royal Palace is only 7 minutes away, and the beautiful Brussels Park sprawls out behind it. Art enthusiasts will adore being within a 5-minute walk to several museums, including the Fin-de-Siècle, Beaux-Arts and Magritte museums. If you consider yourself a lifelong student, the Royal Archives, which has reading rooms, is also only 5 minutes away. If you are a student, or want to be one, Université Libre de Bruxelles is only a 10-minute drive or taxi ride away.
What we liked the most
- The apartment is cozy, modern and has an bathtub that is to die for!
- Located on the Grand Sablon square, you’ll find wonderful little cafés and restaurants right outside your door.
- If you’re looking for something old and special, you can hunt through the antique shops and regular market that this neighborhood is known for.
- Public transportation is accessible and easy to use.

- As soon as you leave the apartment and set foot on Place du Grand Sablon, you'll see multiple bus stops served by lines 27, 48 and 95, which can quickly take you further downtown to the Grand Place and Place de la Bourse, or out to the European Quarter and other parts of Brussels.
- Brussels Central Station, one of the most important railway stations in the city, is only 8 minutes away on foot. In addition to railway service, you can connect to lines 1 and 5 of the metro system from there.
- Just 4 minutes away, past the church of Notre Dame du Sablon, on Rue de la Régence, you can hop on the tram and head north to Brussels Park, La Botanique or the Brussels-North railway station.
