Spotahome's opinion
This airy 1-bedroom apartment to rent on Schöneicher Strasse is on the 5th floor. There isn’t an elevator, so you can save on the gym membership. It’s a great spot, though. The spacious living room is modern and has a balcony overlooking a quiet inner courtyard. The dining table is in the fully-equipped kitchen. The bathroom is spacious and bright. It has a tub and a washing machine, too. In the bedroom, twin beds easily merge into a double, and there is a desk you can use as a workspace.
If you love Asian food, then the Lichtenberg neighborhood is the place to be. It’s a half hour walk, but you can pick up tons of Chinese and other eastern items at the Dong Xuan Center. Closer to home you’ll find a Rewe and and a Lidl supermarket. When you want to escape the city, you can slip into Obersee Park. It has a lake. Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial is close by and so is the historical Ville Heike.
What we liked the most
- The simple modern furnishings allow you to decorate as you like.
- The balcony isn’t furnished, but it’s a fabulous feature.
- There is a washing machine, which is convenient.
- You’re a half hour transit ride from downtown Berlin.
Things to keep in mind
- There isn't an elevator, so getting to this 5th floor apartment can be a bit of a hike.
